BUYING THE RIGHT ELECTRIC GUITAR

All electric guitars are comprised of the same parts; a body, a neck, a head stock piece, electrical pickups and a bridge.

Unlike an acoustic guitar, electric guitars require an amplifier to broadcast the guitar’s sound. The sound of an electric guitar is generated when a musician plucks the strings and the vibration of the strings is transmitted through the pickups to the amplifier.

Now, there are two very important considerations when purchasing the perfect electric guitar, i.e, price and sound.

Electric guitars are divided into four different categories: Acoustic-electric, electric, hollow body electric and steel electric. Each one of these is designed to generate a different sound.

Regardless of the type of guitar you wish to purchase, it is always advisable that you research thoroughly. Try to speak to the employees of guitar shops and test every guitar you may be buying.

Search the internet for the different models and manufacturers until you are certain you have found the electric guitar of your dreams then buy it.

The prices for electric guitars range from $100 to $20 000, therefore budget estimates for good unused guitar should fall within this range.

A beginner guitarist should look for guitar starter kits that will include a guitar, an amplifier and some learn guitar instruction books.
